| Isn't
it all just a bit boring??
It
does often have that reputation, but as Christians we believe
in a living, breathing God who is interested in today's world
and today's people. Not all churches are dull and boring and
the God whom we worship certainly isn't!! if you don't like
it; get involved and change it!!
Isn't
God just like Father Christmas - an elderly man with a long
beard who we only think about once a year and then soon grow
out of?
This
isn't a true picture of God - there are many misconceptions
about God around - from the angry policeman just waiting to
catch us out to the moral example. The God that we believe
in is a God who loves and forgives each one of us if we accept
the offer of a personal relationship with him which is made
possible through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
Christ.
Aren't
all religions basically the same though?
Christianity
has never claimed to be a religion, based on practices, but
a faith grounded in relationship. Christians believe that
the Bible teaches that the only way to God, the Father, is
through Jesus Christ, who said, "I am the way, and
the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me" (John 14:6)
