Parkinson Memorial Methodist Church in Sherburn Village
celebrated its 40th birthday in 2002, having been formed when the congregations of two previous chapels
joined to worship in the present church which was opened on
the 12th December 1964. There has been Methodism in the village
since the early 1800s.
We are a caring group of Methodists - interested in and concerned
about the people in the community. We, additionally, have
concern about wider issues such as fair trade, the Trade Justice
movement, and the eradication of global poverty. We support
Christian Aid, National Children's Homes, Methodist Homes
for the Aged, and World Mission.
Sunday 10am Morning Worship - all are welcome.
Shell/Interlink
Weekly -
we have a Fayre each Autumn, and hold fund-raising functions
for work on our building. We have coffee mornings in Durham
Town Hall from time to time.
Approximately 500 yards on the left hand side of the road
from the crossroads in Sherburn Village to Pittington.
