Carrville is a warm and welcoming church with a lively congregation. Worship is at the centre of the life of any church and so it is with Carrville. Each Sunday we gather in church to worship God, to listen to His word and to seek to understand how we must serve Him in the world. It is an exciting place to meet and worship, and visitors are always welcome. Full details about what we are doing is available at www.carrvillemethodist.org.uk.
We meet for worship on Sundays (every week at 10.30am, and on the first and third Sundays at 6pm) and Tuesdays (9.45am). During the Sunday morning service the children join with us in worship for the first part of the service before leaving to continue in their own act of worship and activities, and there is a crèche available for under 3s. We regularly hold all-age worship where all the church family meets together. We have Messy Church on the second Sunday of the month (4.00-6.00pm).
We have a wide range of activities and events which you are very welcome to attend. To discover what is currently taking place do come and join us. Our weekly notice sheet gives information on a regular basis, supplemented by a monthly magazine, The Visitor, which is full of articles and encouragement. Some of our activities are listed below:
Brownies meet on Mondays and Tuesdays (5.30-7.00pm) the activities enable girls aged 7-10 years to work for interest badges, while developing a wide range of useful skills.
Faith and Friendship includes people who worship at Carrville. This group meets on a weekly basis (Mondays 8.00pm) to share in prayer, friendship, bible study, worship and discussion.
Guides meet on Wednesday (7.15-9.00pm) when girls aged 10-15 years follow their own organised programme, leading to further self-development as individuals and members of a team.
House Group meets (monthly on Thursday evenings) to read and think carefully about the Bible and God’s message for us.
Ladies Circle meets on Tuesday afternoons (1.45–3.00pm) when speakers share on a wide range of topics. This is a friendly group of ladies of all ages sharing fellowship and the circle is open to everyone.
Pram Club meets Thursday mornings (9.30am) and is an informal (sometimes hectic!) social gathering of parents and guardians with their young children. All are welcome to this.
Rainbows meet on Tuesday (6.00-7.00pm) and Friday (5.15-6.30pm). This is open to girls aged 5-7 years and provides a structured programme of fun activities.
Saturday Coffee Morning (10.00-12.00) – This takes place on the 1st Saturday of each month and raises money in aid of a range of charities as chosen by members of the congregation. Gifts for the cake stall and bring-and-buy are greatly appreciated.
Other groups meeting on the church premises include an Embroidery Group, Belmont Ladies Choir and several U3A groups including music, poetry and art appreciation.
